I realize that there is not a great deal more that can be done with the Carpenters' catalog. But this long-time fan would love to see a stateside release of "Live In Japan".

Add to that LIVE AT THE PALLADIUM, the other live album from Carpenters never to see release in the United States. Harry from A&M; Corner

Agreed. Beats yet another compilation of remixes and rerecorded tracks. I wonder how many other concerts might have been recorded over the years. Rudy, chief cook and bottle washer from A&M; Corner.

I personally always felt the Carpenters' live albums were missing something. The Japanese album was okay except for the second disc and the "Then and Now" medley where Richard featured that extra artist. That guy was bad! The whole thing just came across and cheesy and BAD! I have the Japanese CD issue, which is a 2-disc set and a pricy rip-off!
The Paladium album was a lot better, in my humble opinion. I'd rather see it issued as a US CD.
I know Richard Carpenter has said that "As Time Goes By" is the LAST Carpenters album, yet from what I read there are still tracks he could fix and issue. I hope and pray he will grace us with at least one more album of unreleased studio material. ROCK RON

I would bet that there are some other live performances in the vaults on multi-tracks just waiting to be mixed and mastered. Also, it would make sense that the London Palladium concert was much longer than the 40-45 minutes released on LP/CD. The complete concert could be put on to CD. The same could be done for "Live in Japan."
Also, have we been given ALL of the studio recordings the Carpenters made for their TV specials and other TV apperances? What a great compilation that would be - "Carpenters on TV"

I wonder if securing the rights for those programs would be a problem. A lot more than just a record label involved, in other words.
Agreed about Palladium: they likely have an entire concert "in the can" they could fill up the CD with. Rudy, chief cook and bottle washer from A&M; Corner.
