This cd box set consisted of the solo hit's of David Ruffin, Dennis Edwards, Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams and was released sometime around 1995. I think a reissue of this cd would be quite successful. I've been trying for the last four years to find a copy of this cd and I haven't been able to. I sure hope Motown reissues One by One. I have found this CD on many occasions. It pops up on eBay quite often and you may also check out Gemm.com or do an internet search. I found two copies (brand new and not opened) at Gemm.

I found my copy on the GEMM site, offered at a very reasonable price by a dealer in Germany. Copies do surface regularly on eBay, but at much-inflated prices, so I'd recommend avoiding the auction route, and find a friendly, lower-priced seller elsewhere "Truly Yours"

You can certainly find them on GEMM but it can be awfully difficult. I'd love to see this make a return at some point - though it would probably only be profitable in a limited edition.

It Would Be Nice If We Didn't Have To 'Search' Or 'Bid' For These Classics! You Would Think Some Company Would Realize How Important It Is To Save The Music & Release It For All Generations To Enjoy! Tempt On!

In the case of this and many other gems, the problem is not 'some company' but a combination of factors.- all which center around the principle of supply and demand.
Retailers stock that which they feel will continue to sell (it costs them to purchase the product and if it does not sell, valuable space is taken up in bins/on shelves and becomes merchandise for which they may never recoup the monies they've put out let alone make a profit. Consider, too, that the space taken up by non-selling items lessens that which would be available for those items that are in demand and are selling well.
Consumers actually play a great part in the equation. They help guide/ communicate to merchants what type of product to buy. If something is selling well, they will attempt to stock it until it no longer is in demand. If an ample amount of consumers do not communicate to sellers by their continued buying habits that they consider such and such pieces of music as being worthy of being saved and released for all generations, stores will not see a need to stock them nor will record companies see a need to keep them in circulation.
As with retail stores, record companies do not want to be stuck with warehouses filled with un-sellable goods. Hence, they must proceed according to certain (good) business principles.
What Hip-O Select is attempting to do is to make a limited number of cds available again or even available for the first time, cds which recent experience has shown merchants may be leary of carrying because of the above mentioned factors. Hip-O Select has said that they are attempting to reasonably guage an approximate number of what each release might sell and will continue to work and adjust accordingly.

I always thought that this release was such a clever idea. I'm mean, after all, The Temptations as solo artists were each successful in their own right.
I always have felt that The Supremes deserved such a release. While the Ross catalog has been released over and over again in many different configurations, the other 7 ladies have had minimal-to none.
All eight ladies of the Supremes have recorded as solo artists and as various incarnations of the "group" after they left Motown. It would be nice to have a collection with these recordings.
Mary and Scherrie both recorded as solo artists at Motown.
Scherrie and Susaye recorded as a duet at Motown.
Jean recorded for A & M.
Florence recorded for ABC.
...all of which are under the Universal umbrella
Cindy, Susaye and Lynda have all recorded solo tracks too.
