I have always wondered why NONE of "The Pack" albums are on cd. COME ON... This is "Pre" Grand Funk Railroad!! I am aware that their albums were owned by Cameo/Parkway which was owned by MGM, but I believe is now owned by Polygram which is a division of Universal. I am also aware that "MarkFarner.com" has a cd of "The Pack", but they are vinyl to cd transfers (which I bought and am disappointed). I'm CONFUSED?? These albums ARE the "Holy Grail" of Grand Funk fans!! PLEASE release them "Hip-O"!!

MGM never OWNED Cameo-Parkway. They had distribution deals and UMG may have backup copies of the masters in their vaults but are not allowed to release them because they dont legitimately own them. Cameo-Parkway etc is owned by Abkco records, and there have been plans since 1985 to release the music on CD but because artists got shortchanged when Cameo and Parkway existed, they're taking that out on Allan Klein who owns ABKCO. Hence, too many legal troubles to legitimately issue the music on cd. Unfortunately, in 2 years, the earliest Cameo-Parkway recordings will be in the UK public domain, so if we are to see any releases from the original masters, if they dont come this year or next year, they will probably never come out.
