The WHOLE album!! This contains sooo many phenomenal tracks, not just the masterpiece title track! There is "Save The Last Dance For Me", and my personal fave "I''''ll Never Need More Than This"!
Please release this on CD, re-mastered (in the original glorious MONO mix!)

In fact, I have this on a CD of it twofered with the Checkmates, Ltd. (the same album available on Hip-O Select). In stereo though. The majors (Hip-O Select is a major) do not care about mono/stereo, they treat an album as an album.

PHLP-4011 River Deep - Mountain High - Ike And Tina Turner [Not Issued] This album was not released in the United States. Although some (mono) records were pressed with the yellow label with red Philles logo and black print, no covers were ever printed for the US release. Released in the UK as London HAU 8298 in mono and SHU 8298 in stereo. River Deep-Mountain High/I Idolize You (new version)/A Love Like Yours (Don't Come Knocking Every Day)/A Fool In Love (new version)/Make Em Wait/Hold On Baby//Save The Last Dance For Me/Oh Baby! (Things Ain't What They Used To Be)/Every Day I Have To Cry/Such A Fool For You/It's Gonna Work Out Fine (new version)/You're So Fine
On the A&M; pressing, I'll Never Need More Than This" replaces "You're So Fine" and ended up getting the track listing most people are familiar with and in fact it only peaked at #102 on the Billboard chart at the time.

Greetings, Brad,
I recall as a teenager buying "River Deep" by ITT on the yellow Philles label in a department store's (A&S;) record department. (A&S; = Abraham & Strauss, now out-of-biz.) I always logged in the album, artist, label, place and date I bought any album. Still do!
So, if "RDMH" was in a department store, one would presume that it was available in American record stores. Sure enough, I saw it subsequently in record stores. Because I loved (and still do) anything Phil Spector produced, I bought another. Fortunately, I still have one "RDMH" album -- plus the single.
Having seen another spectacular Spector artist Darlene Love perform "RDMH" in the Broadway play, "Leader of the Pack" (1985), her version, believe it or not, is even more powerfully-packed and even better! In the show, "LOTP", produced by Elle Greenwich, "RDMH" was the huge finale production. With a thick plastic covering inside of a zip-up plastic bag, I brought my original "RDMH" album to the show!

If you bought an authentic american release of the album when it came out in an american store, please, share label and cover scans for proof, because that would be an interesting find.

I'd also like proof that Philles did release River Deep, Mountain High because it isn't known in collector circles if the Philles pressings actually did get released. Also post this on icemagazine.com. bsnpubs.com and/or stevehoffman.tv where there are lots of collectors that post on them

Wow, interesting stuff here! I'm glad I started this thread!
Fact is, I didn't know there were two different track listings. To reiterate, what I do want released is the original MONO mix on CD, which would be a first-time release. And also, "I'll Never Need More Than This" AND "You're So Fine" should be included.

"Mountain High" is rite! As all of my approximately 500 record albums plus approximately 1,000 singles, etc. are in special, high-protection, professional storage, I haven't literally seen them since "Thriller" came out! However, they are more than safe, dry and secure. I'm not the only one on these boards with their record albums in storage. I'm gonna have to make a pilgrimage soon with a weekend inventory process. I have many interesting and/or valuable albums that I wanna scan and place. I'll wait for the next visit of one of my trusted and knowledgeable M.B.B. buddies! "What's Easy For Two Is So Hard For One".
P.S. Thanx, Puff 'n' Stuff (a very interesting thought).
