I would ABSOLUTELY love to see a CD & DVD release of the "Return to Love" tour. I know the first shows were recorded with the intention of compiling a cd and dvd from them. When the tour was cancelled, I guess everything was forgotten.
Personally, I think a dvd and cd of "RTL" would sell. The tour was historical because of its failure. A dvd release could be augmented by interviews with Diana, Scherrie, Lynda, Mary, and Cindy, as well as fans who were able to experience the shows. There is also a boatload of clips of the pre-concert publicity appearances by D, S & L, as well as Mary's comments about the tour. What a package that could be!
I was not fortunate enough to see a live RTL concert. The day I was to go, to a performance in Washington DC, the tour was called off. I have seen a bootleg video of the Philly concert and the portion of that same show that was aired on VH1. Diana, Scherrie, and Lynda looked and sounded wonderful.
Is there any possibility of this material ever being issued?

Diana owns these if they exist. Becoming her own manager when she broke away from Motown in 1981 taught her that lesson.

I saw the RTL stop in Dallas, and it was fabulous. I'm sorry your tour stop got cancelled :(
I doubt it'll be released. For the longest time, I kept checking to see if the VH1 Divas show would be released on cd/dvd like all the other past VH1 Divas specials. Maybe ghetto Motown politics are involved; because they sure don't care about keeping the original LPs for people to buy; yet threaten to sue when fans offer to share amongst themselves *rolling eyes*.

Conventional wisdom is that no c/d or VHS or DVD will be issued of the "Return To Love Concert Tour" until it is clear if there will be a DIANA ROSS & THE SUPREMES Reunion Tour" (w/ Mary & Cindy). If that is gonna happen, it would be a promotional mistake and marketing nightmare to put out the product of DIANA w/ two other SUPREMES. If there's not gonna be a DRS "reunion" tour or concert, then "RTL" should come out!
