Subject: Melissa Manchester: Mathematics

While it is not highly regarded by her true fans, Melissa Manchester's "Mathematics" still has some good tracks, which warrant a re-release. Also, I think Melissa recorded some soundtrack cuts while signed to MCA, so perhaps these could be included.

YES! As a huge MM fan I'd like to see the following ALL released on CD:

1979: "Melissa Manchester"
1980: "For the Working Girl"
1982: "Hey Ricky"
1983: "Emergency"
1985: "Mathematics" (on MCA)

The first 4 are all out of print or have never been on CD and were on Arista, I think. This would be a PERFECT catalog for HipO Select to work on!

MELISSA MANCHESTER, FOR THE WORKING GIRL, and HEY RICKY have all been on CD. MM actually has been on CD twice, once in the 80's and then in the mid 90's in Japan. FTWG and HR were on CD briefly in Japan around the mid 90's. I lucked out and got them before they started getting really expensive on eBay!

To my knowledge, EMERGENCY and MATHEMATICS have never been on CD.

I personally would really like to see a CD reissue of Melissa's first two albums, HOME TO MYSELF and BRIGHT EYES. They are outstanding!

You can reissue me a copy of 'Singin...'! That's MY Favorite, right there!!

The other CDs mentioned probably would not fall under Hip-O Select, as they were all released on Arista.

Ah yes, much as I love the Bright Eyes record (I bought it when it was on Bell, before Arista was a glint in Clive's eye), it's out of our purview. Great version of "I Can't Get Started" on that album, incidentally. We'll look into Melissa's Mathematics. Maybe it will "add up" to a release... who knows?

Thanks for checking in and considering this request! Yes, I too had both "Home To Myself" and "Bright Eyes" when originally released on Bell, subsequently re-released by Arista when "Midnight Blue" hit big.
