I think it's very strange that these mail-order ONLY albums are being released on a Friday, and not shipped until the following Monday at the earliest!
What's even worse, the "Supremes in Japan" CD was released on Friday October 8, just prior to a 3-day holiday weekend! (There's no mail service on Monday october 11 due to it being Columbus Day.) So... the album that is "officially released" on Friday October 8 won't even be shipped out to anyone until Tuesday October 12! What's up with THAT??? I think it's bogus to "release" a product that isn't made available to the public (via shipping) until 4 days later. And when you add transit time to that, the first customers probably won't receive the product until October 13 at the earliest, and that's only if they requested overnight shipping.! I think this practice is bound to add frustration to those of us who order these new releases. The last release I ordered in advance of the release date (TAPFU) didn't arrive until nearly 2 months after the official "release date". I think a more honest and realistic system should be put into practice. This stinks. ----------------------------------- Join my SUPREMES Yahoo group: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/SupremelyTheSupremes/join |

Hey:
US releases on Tuesdays, UK releases on Mondays, so who cares that Hip-O Select are on Fridays. At least the product is getting released! As for the Sure Source shipping, we will have to wait and see. These titles we showing in stock on Thursday, so they should have been in the USPS on Friday. We will see later this week if in fact they have cleaned up their act. If they did, that gets their standard shipping into the ballpark with the competition. |

Did not miss your point, but when they set release dates does not really matter that much. When I posted that I thought that SureSource would have kept their part of the bargain in cleaning up their act. Since then I've found that not to be the case.
A bigger question remains than about Friday releases. That being if they post something for release and advertise it as in stock, it should be in stock, not coming into stock at a later date. My order was held allegedly due to "Pops" not coming in until 10/11. There had been no indication on the website, before, during, or after that the title went out of stock. SureSource needs to go. Period. |

quote: "SMF" doesn't have a point! There's nothing "sad" about DDL's sensible response. It's an E-Z decision to concur with DDL's voice of reason. No one -- except allegedly the "SMF" -- cares what "day" Universal Music Groups releases so many albums we want, enjoy and cherish as long as UMG releases them -- including on Leap Year Day!
