| How do I make a smiley face? |
Smileys are a fun way to communication emotion to other board users. The stand 'Net standard applies on the ASP Message Board. So for example, [smile] would return and [wink] would return . Below is a listing of all available emotion-icons on the ASP Message Board. Smileys are only available if this feature is turned ON. You can also use the "Quick Smiley" function to add smileys to your messages with having to type the smiley code in.

| I take offense to vulgar language. Is it filtered out? |
| That's a great question! Vulgar language is censored out by the ASP Message Board. The option is available for message board administrators to either allow all language in all posts or to filter out posts with a language filter. This filter is customizable by the message board administrator, so if you feel that a word is vulgar to you and the word is not currently being filtered, contact the message board administrator and ask them to filter the word(s). |
| What is AMB code & how does one use it? |

AMB code allows one to post special HTML-like messages without knowing HTML or when the board has turned HTML functionality off.
Creating URLs:
- If AMB code is ON typing a normal http://www.yoururl.com will create a link.
- You can also have a url with a title displayed below when AMB code in ON
[url="http://www.yahoo.com/"]Visit Yahoo![/url] will create a link like this: Visit Yahoo!
Linking Inline Images:
- You can use [url="http://www.nintendo.com"][img]images/picons/nintendo/mario2.gif[/img][/url] to have hyperlinked images that appear like so:
Creating Email links:
Text Formating:
- Bold - [B]Hey There![/B]
- Italic - [I]Yo![/I]
- Underlined - [U]yippie![/U]
Ordered Lists
[ul] - Create unordered list
[li] - Create line item
[ol] - Create ordered list
Examples:

Show web code in your message in a special format:
- Use [code]SELECT * FROM SOMETHING[/code] to format your code
SELECT * FROM SOMETHING
Displaying inline images:
If [IMG] code is ON you can create inline images by typing:

| What is the "Options" section? |
The "Options" section currently allows you to perform two functions:
- Change your User profile
- Manage your thread subscriptions
Change your User profile
From here you can change various information that you entered when registering on the board or customizing various features. Each option under "Change your User profile" is listed below:
- Email - Required field. Used for board features such as: Notify, Send thread to a friend, etc. Please enter a valid email address.
- User Name - Required field. Displayed when posting threads or replies. This name is considered your unique idenitiy on the message board.
- Password - Required field. Used to log into the message board with your unique indenitity.
- Confirm Password - Required field. For verfication of your unique password.
- My Icon - Allows you to select an icon to display on your public profile and on posts & replies. Click on get "Get icon now!" link to select your own icon or click on your existing icon to change it.
- Home page - Show everyone your homepage by adding it to this field.
- Location - Let people on the board know where your located for possible communication in different languages.
- AOL - Add your AOL Instant Messenger username here. Allows people to cut and paste your username into the AIM tool.
- ICQ - Add your ICQ username here. Allows for direct link access to the ICQ global directory.
- MSN - Add your MSN Messenger username here. Allows people to cut and paste your username into the MSN tool.
- Odigo - Add your Odigo Messenger username here. Allows people to cut and paste your username into the Odigo tool.
- Yahoo - Add your Yahoo! Messenger username here. Allows people to cut and paste your username into the Yahoo! tool.
- Occupation - Tell everyone what you do for a living or hobby.
- Interests - What types of activities do you enjoy?
- Signature - Add your custom signature here. Supports smileys. Also supports [img] code, AMB code, & HTML if supported by the board.
- Hide Email Address - Do not display your e-mail address to the board community. Only allows adminstrators to see your e-mail address.
- Display Categories Only - Do you want to see only categories when you visit the board? Will not work if the board doesn't support collasping categories.
- Remember Me - Sets cookies into your browser to allow the board to remember you when you visit. Not recommended if you share a computer with someone.
- Email Notify - Sets the default for e-mail notifications when someone replies to a topic you post on the board.

View your thread subscriptions here. You can unsubscribe to the thread, view the latest activity, or sign up for post notifications.

| What web browser should I use? |
AMB 2.x has been tested with the latest browsers available for most computers. Currently supported browsers include the Netscape 4.7x family, Netscape 6.0, Internet Explorer 4.x or higher on Windows computers. On the Macintosh Internet Explorer 5.X or higher and/or Netscape 4.7x is necessary for optimum viewing. |
| Why can't I post a message right after posting one? |
This message board allows for a feature called "Spam Control" which will force a time limit between each post. Depending on the board administrator the time limit could be between 1 minute to 99 minutes. |
