After hits like “Tempted” and “Black Coffee In Bed” topped the charts and filled the airwaves on MTV, the music world was stunned when Squeeze surprisingly disbanded in 1982. Luckily, the silence only lasted 2 years, as the band’s leaders, Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, reappeared with 1984’s Difford & Tilbrook. Sadly out of print for nearly 20 years, this lost gem contains 10 originals – including the singles “Love’s Crashing Waves” and “Hope Fell Down” – from one of music’s favorite and most revered songwriting duos. 

 

Squeeze reformed the following year, so as quickly as Difford & Tilbrook arrived – they were gone again. With this reissue, Difford & Tilbrook can finally be scratched off the wish list of those who have been waiting to re-experience or even discover this missing piece of the Squeeze puzzle.

 

 

Did you know? Keith Wilkinson, who joined the Squeeze line-up when they reformed in 1985, handled bass duties on Difford & Tilbrook.
